THE SEE SOMETHING/SAY SOMETHING CITY
The Slag Glass City seeks essays and art about urban oddities, street observations, homage to the everyday, evidence of surveillance, records of protests, public memorials and celebrations, encounters that repeat and/or surprise, and anything to do with bearing witness to a peculiar and particular city.
Slag Glass City, a journal of the urban essay arts, wants your stories, speculations, lyrics, and reports of the ephemera of personal and public city histories. WRITE US A CITY that’s made from material evidence, fragments from fires, and joyful fabulations that bring the dead back into view. Slag Glass City publishes nonfiction prose, graphic memoir, video, photography, mixed media, hybrid, and other forms of the essay arts. (We don’t publish poetry or fiction.)
Slag Glass City is a part of the DePaul Publishing Institute at the Department of English and MFA/MA in Writing and Publishing Program. Our online and print publications are free of charge and distributed widely. We are unable to pay contributors, but artists retain all rights, we promote broadly, and all work published stays “in-print” online.
